Surrounded by the Himalayans, Nepal is a country of great beauty. However, within in that beauty, lays a daily struggle for it’s people.
Though rich in history and beauty, Nepal continues to struggle against the grips of poverty. One particular group of people reaching towards a future filled with hope are their students. The children’s home situation in Nepal is like those in many impoverished countries… sometimes necessary and sometimes, not. Many impoverished families see it as a way for their children to have a chance at a better life… so, children are abandoned to a system that, in the end, will fail them. These children are provided with an education, but unfortunately, they age out of the children’s home system just two years shy of finishing high school. The majority have no way to continue and cycle back into poverty’s grip. We, at 3seams, want to step in and bridge the gap for this population. The difference that those two years can make in the life of a young adult in Nepal is of enormous proportion.
In the fall of 2013, the journey began. After just a few short meetings, we knew that Nepal would be the next future site for 3seams! Just two years prior, we had developed an outline for a program called ’3E’… an empowerment program for students in their High School years. When we heard about this opportunity to work with students aging out of the children’s home, it was clear that ’3E’ was about to be put into motion!
’3E’ will give students the opportunity to finish their high-school years while at the same time, being trained, mentored, and encouraged to chase after their dreams. The end result? These young adults will, in the end, make a difference in their nation.
We are thrilled to bring you an exciting and innovative product line from our ’3E’ program in Nepal.
EMPOWER – We will strive to empower them through weekly programs where young people will receive tutoring, learn basic computer skills, and learn a variety of basic life skills.
EQUIP – We will train them with a skill or trade that will not only help them financially be able to finish school, but that will also set them up with the ability to support themselves and their family once their education is complete.
ENCOURAGE – We will come alongside them to encourage and inspire them to dream big dreams…and then to go after those dreams!
‘3E’ will be a 2-year program. Not only will they be going to school to complete their High School education, but they will receive progressive life-skills training each week through our program.
Life – Skills Training:
• Basic Business Skills
• Basic Computer Skills
• Mentorship & Guidance
• Bible Teaching
• Assistance towards University
‘3E’ will teach these young adults skills in Jewelry Making. Their wages will be segmented; a percentage directly to them, a percentage to pay a portion of their education costs, and a percentage will be set aside for their future. Their future may be to continue on to University or it may be to start their own business of sorts. Either way, we believe that teaching them to save, and assisting them in that, will benefit them for a lifetime.

Reuben & Rajani
Reuben and Rajani are a gift. Not only are they an amazing fit for our program in Nepal, but they are truly a gift to anyone that has the opportunity to meet them! While members and leadership of a local church in our village, they were praying that God would use them in their community and provide for them a way to make a living. We are so thankful that God saw fit to match them with 3seams. They are passionate about seeing these young adults finish school and transition into an adulthood full of hope! We are thrilled to have them serving as our Program Managers.
